DECEMBER 2023

The Parish Council is very grateful for the support of Ruscombe’s residents in our Neighbourhood Plan referendum. The result is a major win for Ruscombe as the adoption of the Plan will help to shape the future of village in ways that reflect the wishes of the community, expressed during the Neighbourhood Plan consultation.

Number of cast in favour of YES: 239 (96%)
Number cast in favour of NO: 11 (4%)

Notice is hereby given that:

1. Referendum will be held on Thursday 7 December 2023 to decide on the question below:

Do you want Wokingham Borough Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Ruscombe Parish to help it decide on planning applications in the neighbourhood area?

2. The hours of poll will be from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

3. The situation of polling stations and the description of persons entitled to vote thereat are as follows:

Number of polling stations: 1

Situation of polling station: Twyord Room – Loddon Hall, Loddon Hall Road, Twyford, Reading, RG10 9JA

Description of persons entitled to vote: REM – 1 – 863

Referendum on the adoption of Ruscombe Neighbourhood Plan

1.A referendum will be held on THURSDAY 7 DECEMBER 2023 to decide on the question below:-

Do you want Wokingham Borough Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Ruscombe Parish to help it decide planning applicataions in the neighbourhood area?

2. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday 21 November 2023. Applications can be made online:  https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote 

3. New applications, or amendments or cancellations of postal votes and proxy amendments or cancellations must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Civic Offices, Shute End, Wokingham, RG40 1BN by 5pm on Wednesday 22 November 2023. Applications to vote by post can be made online:  https://postal-vote.services.gov.uk

4. New applications to vote by proxy at this referendum must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Civic Offices, Shute End, Wokingham, RG40 1BN by 5pm on Wednesday 29 November 2023. Applications to vote by proxy can be made online:  https://proxy-vote.service.gov.uk/

5.  Applications for a Voter AAuthority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this referendum must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Civic Offices, Shute End, Wokingham, RG40 1BN by 5pm Wednesday 29 November 2023. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate can be made online:  https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate

6. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this referendum must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Civic Offices, Shute End, Wokingham, RG40 1BN by 5pm on Thursday 7 December 2023.
